In September 2011 (12 - 16), Beirut hosted “The Second Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions - 2MSP”. In this context, I won the bid for the “Lemon Tree” project that was proposed on this occasion by the Norwegian People's Aid. The project consisted of three parts:

 

1- The lemon tree: a life-sized interactive plexiglass artwork, made of four parts that were easily carried and assembled. It bore fake cluster bombs that were replaced (magnetically) by fake lemons when participants visited the installation.

2- The logo: a hopeful transformation of the red triangle (a danger sign used to mark contaminated fields). The design consisted of a red triangle with round corners and a lemon with four leafy stems mimicking the skull. It was printed on stickers that were put on lemons harvested in cleared fields.

3- The lemon magnet: a souvenir made of plexiglass that was distributed to the participants in the event.
